The absolute best fantasy movies on Netflix

Hello friends Welcome to, Today we are going to tell you about

Netflix It doesn’t have a huge collection of fancy flicks, but you can find several interesting (and eclectic) gems. Many of them combine fantastical combat with the real world, including the amazing Closet Monster. Or dive straight into fantasy territory with The Golden Compass, based on Philip Pullman’s classic novels.

We hope you find an interesting gem below.

Translated from Basque as blacksmith, Errementari is a horror fantasy about a deal with the devil. In northern Spain in the 1830s, a blacksmith keeps a demon captive until an orphaned girl unwittingly frees it. Wars, murders, kidnappings, suicides and more await you in the furnace of this hellish horror with surprising whips of black comedy.

It’s not Tim Burton’s best work, but Dark Shadows offers another chance to admire the director’s trademark gothic visual style. Based on the series of the same name, the horror-comedy follows a wealthy playboy who unwisely breaks the heart of a witch (Eva Greene). He turns her into a vampire and buries her alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas (Johnny Depp) emerges and discovers the world of the 70s while also harboring a taste for revenge. Although the characters and plot can be impressively fleshed out, Dark Shadows has a stellar cast including Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter. Plus, it features Barnabas’ hilarious reactions to 70s pop culture.

This 2015 film deals with the origins of Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Gareth Hedlund as Hook and Jackman as the pirate Blackbeard.

The Sea Beast joins Netflix’s family-friendly animated adventure series. A young girl named Maisie (Zaris-Angel Hathor) dives aboard the sea monster hunter Captain Crowe (Jared Harris) and embarks on an exciting journey into uncharted waters. The Golden Compass (2007)

Fans of Philip Pullman’s classic fantasy novel series are probably better served by the HBO TV show adaptation. But The Golden Compass, based on the first book, is a solid season with generous doses of fantasy escapism. Follow Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards), a young adventurer who travels from the prestigious halls of Oxford colleges to the kingdom of polar bears in the frozen north. Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Eva Green make up the rich cast.

Technically a superhero movie, The Old Guard delivers a series of impressive action sequences, punctuated by star Charlize Theron’s gunplay. Theron plays Andy, the leader of a group of immortal mercenaries, including a knight who fought in the Crusades. Centuries-old warriors on a mission of vengeance bring progressive heroes and smooth combat, though it doesn’t shy away from any clich├ęs.

Water man will not be for everyone. More drama than pure fantasy, this family-friendly adventure deals with themes of grief, loss and friendship. Eleven-year-old Gunner and his family move to a new town, where the bookworm must contend not only with a lack of friends, but also with a harsh parent suffering from leukemia. His escape takes him to a fairytale forest, where his imagination comes alive. An adventurous story that deals with bigger issues.

This dark fantasy drama comes from Spanish director Jay Bayona, who has since branched out into massive franchises including Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the first two installments of Prime Video’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series. But perhaps his best work focuses on coming-of-age stories. A Monster Calls follows a troubled young boy who encounters a tree that promises to tell him three stories, as long as Connor tells him one in return. The Monster Calls is rooted in darker themes, one of which is death.

Produced by Sam Raimi, this dark fantasy has top-notch horror credentials. Still aimed at younger audiences, Nightbooks spins a mystery about a young boy who must figure out how to escape the magical apartment of Krysten Ritter’s witch Natacha. Tomb of entertainment

Crossing genres, Closet Monster uses its fantasy elements to open a fresh and moving window into adulthood. Scared by witnessing a homophobic attack, teenager Oscar must grapple with his feelings for Wilder. Be warned, Closet Monster incorporates levels of David Cronenberg’s body horror into its larger picture of internalized homophobia. With a great performance by Connor Jessup, Monster in the Closet is an indie gem.

Date a fantastic story that may or may not be true. Will Bloom (Billy Crudup) visits his dying father when exciting and impossible stories about his life begin to take hold. Directed by Tim Burton, this sprawling adventure takes us back to Edward Bloom’s (Ewan McGregor) youth, where we see his stories unfold for ourselves. With magicians, circuses and bank robberies, the big fish is an attractive prize.

A Boy Named Christmas (2021)

A Christmas cracker that delivers loads of holiday spirit. A Boy Called Christmas won’t win any awards for originality, but it certainly delivers what it says on the tin.
