This sci-fi miniseries had varying degrees of success, so this is a recommendation for an episode that knocked it out of the park. This is largely thanks to Anne Hathaway. In Solos Episode 1, she stars as Leia, a physicist who manages to communicate with the future, but faces obstacles created by her greatest enemy, herself. This rollercoaster of an episode runs the gamut of emotions and should be the only episode you watch.

The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022-)
Based on the novel by Walter Tewis, the series features a stellar cast: Chiwetel Ejiofor as an alien who lands on Earth seeking help from a brilliant scientist, and Bill Nighy as the alien Thomas Jerome Newton. The one that fell to the ground in the 1976 movie. conformity The role was originally played by David Bowie, and each episode of the sequel is named after one of Bowie’s songs. A series that is more than solid and entertaining, which is best watched without comparing it to the previous content. Be careful, though, if you’re not a fan of the split timeline.

Starring Chloe Grace Moretz, environmental is a brand new sci-fi series from the creators of Westworld. It’s a step up in terms of providing a simpler narrative that’s easier to follow. Flynn Fisher (Moretz) and his brother Burton (Jack Raynor) become involved with a dangerous new video game that leads them to future London and a fight to save the world. Based on William Gibson’s novel, The Peripheral draws from rich sources and offers an exciting, if slightly generic, adventure.

Comparisons of Black Mirror to this British series about misguided technology are inevitable. Set in a futuristic London, The Feed focuses on an implant that allows people to live-stream their lives without ever pressing a button on their phone. No, absolutely no problem. David Thewlis and Michelle Fairley have an impressive cast. While not as polished or deep as Black Mirror, Feed is still worth watching.

Humans may not be entirely original, but assembled parts sing. A British family buys an artificial intelligence robot named “Synth” to help with their busy lives. This down-to-earth approach to sensitive and possibly dangerous robots is one of humanity’s greatest strengths. At the sweet center: an innocent bond between the family’s little girl and Gemma Chan’s beautiful and efficient synthetic Anita. A family mystery leads to the origins of robots, which explore important philosophical themes such as humanity, pain, memories, and reality.

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams (2017-2018)

As with most series, some episodes are better than others, but if you crave storytelling with Black Mirror-like set-ups, give it a go.

Look no further for trippy sci-fi that asks you to turn on your wild theory generator Outer range. The sci-fi western is set on the Abbott family farm, where patriarch Royal (Josh Brolin) is hiding a big secret. When a stranger comes to town (Imogen Potts), she is forced to confront her past, present and future, and not just metaphorically. Weird in ways you might not expect, Outer Range is a solid sci-fi outing that’s well worth it. Another reason to invest: Amazon It was extended Neo Western for the second series.

Then one day — spoilers for episode 1 — he swings by at work and meets himself, but a better version of the parallel universe. Tales from the Loop (2020—)
Not just another show about a small town where strange things happen, Tales from the Loop has layers beneath its pretty surface. Based on the narrative art book by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, the series is stunning to watch. Detailed and symmetrical frames somehow evoke the feeling of painting. The people of The Connected City are similarly nuanced, their stories about loneliness, aging and the impact of technology.

night sky It’s not the most memorable title, and the one-season series doesn’t reach the hard sci-fi heights some people might be looking for. Although a slow-burning mystery involving an alien planet, Night Sky’s biggest strength is the moving and sometimes surprisingly funny drama between an elderly couple who are the unlikeliest of protagonists. Facing health problems, not to mention dangerous new guests, Franklin and Irene Yorke (JK Simmons and the massive Sissy Spacek) do their best to understand a portal to a mysterious and deserted planet.
